June 29, 2014

Wow what a trip, these comments are wonderful I did not know that could happen.
I am back from Kansas and finally retired.

I need to put something in here about my retirement party.   It started at 3:15 Kathy and I stepped into the room and people just came up and started talking.  The line was like a reception line.  It was wonderful The president and two of the Vice presidents showed up. Good stuff.  We did that for about 30 minutes.  Ric our HR guy got the program going, there was a lot of talking about me. That was fun. My boss E-mailed all of the instructors.  There were a lot of comments it was great, the only thing that most of them said was about my hat.   There were about 5 people that stood up and said something.  The President of the college gave me a really nice clock with brass engraving on it.  When they gave it to me they gave me a standing ovation.  I did not know what to say or do so I set there with gratitude in my heart and tears in my eyes.  This was the greatest job I have ever had. Lots of Ice cream and much one on one conversations.
We are being tested, the idea that we are waiting for the envelope to see where we are headed  for the next two years is about to drive me buggy and I really do not have far to go
Kathy's retirement party is tomorrow at 1:30 she will write later.
Grateful for your interest thanks so much.

Hello!   June 14, 2014

Our life has started on a new adventure and we would like you to be part of it. It started many years ago as we started to plan for our retirement and now the time is here it seems almost impossible that the time has gone by so fast.

Steve's retirement party will be June 20th, and Kathy's retirement party will be June 30th.

May 18th we meet with our Bishop and clicked the submit button on our application for a full time mission.  We meet with our Stake President on the 4th of June.  Our visit with Bishop was casual and friendly.  We think he was as excited as we are...It was a little different with our Stake President.  He sat us both down and ask us pertinent questions about if we were ready, and if our family was ready. He then ask Steve to leave, temple recommend questions were asked. Steve came in next and again the temple questions were asked. It was  cool when he asked, "do you consider yourself worthy to be a missionary and represent the Savior Jesus Christ?"

We are  waiting patiently for our call. John is working on a Skype so that  anyone that wants to, can watch us open the envelope with our mission call.

This is the first of many blogs.
