The envelope came at about 9:30 am Wednesday. We had agreed not to open the envelope until
all of our children were able to hear or Google plus. It was very hard not to take a peek, but we knew
better. We started about 6 pm but tried
to get a hold of Angie and waiting for Anna to get here it was closer to 6:30
pm, then we finally opened the paper work.
It told us that we will be serving in the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission for
the next 23 months. We are to report to the MTC in Provo on the 1st
day of September.
Kathy and I spent the rest of the day reading our mission
papers and looking on the internet to see what Puerto Rico looks like. It looks like it is going to be warm and humid.
We are excited
There are still a lot of questions that need to be answered
Our adventure starts.

I had my retirement party yesterday, Monday June 30th. It was such a special day. My HR director over Meetinghouse Facilities and Church Security presented me with a letter signed by the First Presidency thanking me for my years of service. The HR community presented me with a rock from Temple Square with a plaque that said, " What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone, but what is woven into the lives of others". MFD presented me with a corsage and Steve with boutonniere and a beautiful flower arrangement. Some very nice things were said about me and my years of service. I got to say a few words and bear my testimony. Then I got to shake hands and give hugs to the many people that came to my retirement party. It was such a good day. Maybe our call will come Wednesday! Kathy
